Would-be HTC One M9 buyers who want to be first in line to own the flagship phone will be able to pre-order it from March 9th, ahead of its retail date of March 31st.
Aside from EE, major carriers have yet to confirm they’re going live with pre-orders that day. But given that we’ve yet to hear about any exclusivity deals between HTC and UK networks, expect all the big hitters to be on board from the get-go.
HTC said: "Handsets will be available to pre-order on select partner websites from 9th March and available to buy in-store across all listed partners from 31st March, as well as at htc.com.”
The quick-off-mark launch of pre-orders comes as HTC looks to make good on the ten-day head-start it has on Samsung’s Galaxy S6, which doesn’t go on sale until April 10th.
Both phones were launched at Mobile World Congress last weekend to a mixed reception.
In a sop to consumers who complained about the One M8’s camera, HTC has upgraded the M9’s imaging capabilities with a 20-megapixel rear camera.
It has also repurposed the M8’s five-megapixel main camera for the front-facing snapper on the One M9.
Subtly redesigned but with the same lush metal build, the handset packs a new version of HTC Sense with Google Now-style personal assistant functionality and enhanced BoomSound with Dolby Audio.
