Apple has released a new iPhone dock with a Lightning connector, three years after it stopped selling a similar model compatible with older iPhones.
The new dock works with all Lightning–compatible iPhones, including the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 5C, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
The base does not have a recessed area for a particular model, so it should work nicely with any future iPhones too.
The new product also comes with a 3.5mm port for connecting to stereo speakers, so you can listen to tunes on external speakers or older stereos.
That’s a great move considering much older home audio equipment doesn’t support AirPlay streaming.
The new dock can be snagged now directly from Apple for £35.
Just remember that after being out of the market for three years, Apple has left plenty of room for decent third-party alternatives to crop up. Be sure to check out those before going with Apple’s official version.
