Apple’s long–rumoured iPhone 7 Plus will not come with a dual lens camera, despite months of leaks and ]rumours to the contrary.
That’s according to a user on China’s Weibo social network, who claims to have spoken with insiders at Apple’s manufacturing partner, Foxconn.
Foxconn staff have apparently been told that the technology behind the iPhone 7 Plus’s dual camera is not ready for inclusion on such a mass scale.
There is no word as to whether Apple will instead offer an improved single lens shooter, or stick with the same unit found in the iPhone 6s Plus.
Apple’s imaging plans for its iPhone 7 Plus have been at the centre of gossip for months. But now it seems that the one feature which could help the device stand out from last year's model is being scrapped.
If that does prove to be the case, Apple will likely struggle to convince consumers to upgrade to the iPhone 7 Plus, especially when stories abound about a major new version of the iPhone, replete with flexible screen, due out in 2017.
