Samsung’s next–generation Galaxy S8 will feature an all–screen front without any bezels, with the Korean company plotting a string of new features to give it the jump on Apple.
Anonymous sources have revealed Samsung’s plans to Bloomberg, backing up previous claims from the supply chain that the Galaxy S8 will mark a step change from previous models.
As well as being bezel free, the Galaxy S8 is purported to have a home button embedded beneath the screen, meaning there will be no physical keys on the front of the device.
The sources have also reiterated rumours about Samsung’s plans for a new virtual assistant, which will be able to make calls, send texts and set up calendar appointments. This new rival to Siri is being powered by Viv Labs, which Samsung acquired earlier this year.
Because of the innovative nature of the device, the insiders have also claimed that the Galaxy S8 may well be delayed until April. Samsung is understandably nervous about getting the Galaxy S8 perfect following the global recall and ultimate discontinuation of the Galaxy Note 7.
