Apple is readying two new iPad Pros with a notch design and Face ID, according to famed analyst Ming Chi Kuo.
In a new research note, Kuo, known for making on–the–money predictions about Apple’s forthcoming products, says that there will be 11–inch and 12.9–inch versions.
His nod to the inclusion of Face ID and an iPhone X–style notch comes after a series of hints and rumours about such plans in recent months.
iOS 12’s configuration on the iPad makes space at the top of the device’s display for a notch, while a number of sources close to Apple’s supply chain have said it is planning on wholly redesigning its tablet with Face ID in mind.
The switch to Face ID will see the iPad Pro lose its home button, offering Apple the chance to include an edge–to–edge display that mimics its top–end iPhone.
A launch date has not been set. However, it’s likely Apple will want to hold its new iPad Pro lineup back and reveal it after its released its new iPhones. The latter are expected in September.
