A fast broadband connection is becoming one of the must-have amenities for people buying a new home, it has been reported.
Research conducted by independent estate agents Delaney’s found that homes advertised along with their broadband speed capability were twice as likely to get viewing requests.
Such homes also received 40 per cent more web page views than properties with no information about broadband speeds, the firm claimed.
Rob Delaney, spokesperson for the agency, said that as with good schools and south-facing gardens, people are "now on the hunt for homes with fast broadband".
He described this as "a sign of times" - with consumers recognising the importance of high grade connectivity.
"But we were still really surprised with the results of our trial," Mr Delaney stated.
"We're now displaying broadband speeds on all our property details because it's clearly what customers are looking for."
