A few years ago, Black Friday only existed in the US. But like Hershy's and hotdogs, Black Friday has crossed the Atlantic and embedded itself firmly in British culture.

As the name suggests, it started life as a one-day-only promotion. Now, however, deals seem to start earlier each year, with many retailers running deals throughout November. And Amazon has already gone live with a few unmissable bargains.

Luckily for you, we've rounded up all our favourite Black Friday Amazon deals for smartphones and other gadgets all in one place.

All prices are correct at time of writing.

Amazon Echo second generation

Order your favourite takeaway, check the train times or play music just by asking Alexa. The Amazon Echo is a voice-activated speaker that works with loads of apps that you can access hands-free.

The second-generation Echo comes with louder, clearer speakers than last year's model, promising 360° immersive sound. It's also got better word recognition and improved microphones, so Alexa can hear your requests from further away.

Amazon Echo Dot second generation (Was: £49.99. Now: £34.99)

Echo dot second generation

The Amazon Echo Dot has all the benefits of the full-sized Echo, but with a smaller speaker. So you can still use its voice recognition smarts to play music, order a taxi or ask the weather. It’ll just sound quieter.

You can easily plug it into your own stereo speakers. And if you’ve already got a sound system you’re happy with, you can use it with the Dot for half the price of the Echo.

Motorola Moto C (Was: £99.99. Now: £64.99)

Motorola Moto C

If you're really on a budget, you could do a lot worse than the Moto C. At five-inches, the screen is large, it runs Android Nougat and there's a decent 2,350mAh battery.

The five-megapixel main camera won't win any prizes. And nor will the grainy two-megapixel selfie camera. But if you don't mind that and money's tight, the Moto C's a good buy.

Huawei P10 Plus (Was: £699.99. Now: £499.99)

Huawei P10 Plus

A brilliant phone. But most of all it’s a terrific camera phone, thanks to camera technology care of highly rated camera specialist Leica.

It pairs dual 20 megapixel and 12 megapixel sensors, which combine for depth-of-field shots. And there's a great eight-megapixel selfie camera too, with a clever slider feature for group selfies that means it can tell how many people are shot.

It also stands out for its large, crisp 5.5-inch screen, iPhone-style design and premium construction and huge 3,750mAh battery.

Wileyfox Swift 2 X (Was: £219.99. Now: £144.99)

Wileyfox Swift 2 X

The Swift 2 X is a premium take on the Swift 2 and improves on its running mate with a higher resolution, brighter screen that’s among the best you’ll find for a phone in this price range and a slightly better camera.

Expect to get a good day and a half from the huge 3,010mAh battery too. That’s well above average and superb for the price.

Wileyfox Swift 2 (Was: £159.99. Now: £109.99)

British brand Wileyfox specialises in good value smartphones that won’t break the bank. The Swift 2 is proof positive.

It’s a neatly designed phone, with a solid aluminium construction and fingerprint scanner to keep your details safe.

At five inches, the screen’s a good size but isn’t quite as bright or vibrant as you’d get with pricier brands. There’s also plenty of storage, so you’ll have lots of room for apps, games and music.

Binatone M250 Big Button phone (Was: £27.99. Now: £18.99)

Binatone M250

Aimed at people who find touchscreens and small buttons too fiddly to get grips with, the Binatone M250 features a large keypad that makes it easier to find and select the key you're looking for.

This stripped down phone sticks to its core function of calls and texts, with no apps, games or browsers to get in the way.

For hard-of-hearing users, the M250 has a loud ringtone. And for vision-impaired customers, it's got a bright, clear screen that makes it easy to read.
