Sony Ericsson owners have been sent a patch for the 12 megapixel Satio cameraphone which fixes the interface problems currently affecting the high-end mobile phone.
Problems with the handset’s touchscreen functionality prompted leading retailers Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U to withdraw the Satio from sale last week.
In an attempt to address the problem, the Satio has now received a firmware upgrade, dubbed version R1CA037, from Sony Ericsson.
The company has yet to issue a fix for the gaming focussed Aino handset, which has also been affected by software glitches and joined the Satio in being pulled from shelves by some of the UK’s largest mobile phone retailers.
The widely reported issues with the handsets are likely to be a significant blow for Sony Ericsson as it looks to claw back market share from rival manufacturers in the run-up to Christmas.
