Curious what Sony Ericsson (SE)’s upcoming Xperia Neo looks like in action? Of course you are. Lucky for you then that a lucky Fandroid who managed to get his mitts on a unit has kindly posted a video of it for all to see.
The clip (see below), which lasts only a fraction over a minute, gives viewers a glimpse of a rather stunning and compact bit of kit that appears to borrow similar design aesthetics as the Xperia Play, sans the slide-out gamepad.
Originally intended as a direct successor to the hugely popular Vivaz, the renamed Neo is the newest entry confirmed so far in SE’s Xperia range this year, alongside the Play and the Arc, and is due to be officially unveiled on Sunday at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Although details are thin on the ground, rumours suggest the Neo will house a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen of the same ‘Reality Display’ variety as the Arc, a 1GHz processor and an 8.1-megapixel snapper with LED flash and Exmor R sensor. A front-facing VGA for video calling may also be onboard and it’s dead cert to run Android 2.3 out of the box.
Stay tuned for more information about the Neo very soon.
