Sony has begun rolling out the latest iteration of Android to the Xperia T, bringing a host new features and improvements to the official James Bond Phone.
User reports suggest that Android 4.1.2 – aka Jelly Bean – is currently available for Xperia T users in the Netherlands, which suggests to us that a rollout for the UK should also be on the horizon.
Highlights of the latest platform refresh include a Siri-style voice-guided assistant in the shape of Google Now, an improved on-screen keyboard, a redesigned notifications shade and numerous performance optimisations as part of the ‘Project Butter’ initiative to make Android smoother, slicker and quicker than ever.
Other enhancements include an updated camera app with HDR, improved autofocus, Sony’s Clear Audio stereo sound technology and a revamped UI.
For those living in Oranje Country, the update is available to grab right now via the Sony PC Companion software or as an over-the-air update. Hopefully it’ll trickle down to other regions in the days and weeks ahead.
You can manually check if the update is available in your location by going to the 'Settings' app, then heading to 'About Device'.
