Sony Xperia Z2 customers who’ve pre-ordered the handset from Phones 4U can expect to get their phone from April 14th, the retailer has confirmed, amid severe stock shortages of the keenly anticipated handset.
Phones 4U’s announcement comes after Sony delayed the launch of its smartphone, which initially tipped up way back in February at Mobile World Congress, due to production glitches.
Although originally intended to hit shop shelves in April, Sony has now named May 1st as the Xperia Z2’s official street date.
Phones 4U’s sweeteners for pre-order customers make it worth considering. Get in early and you’ll get a free Sony SRS-BTX300 wireless speaker worth £119, alongside exclusive Sony content including games, music and six movies.
Xperia Z2 customers who pre-order the handset on a 4G contract also qualify for a £50 voucher to spend on apps, games and whathaveyou from the Google Play download store.
Vodafone and Carphone Warehouse have also both pledged to deliver pre-orders from the middle of March.
