Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean rolling out for some Google Nexus S models

At least two variants of the Google Nexus S are currently receiving an upgrade to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, reports suggest.

We’ve received word from some users that an over-the-air update to the latest OS refresh is now rolling out to the i9023 and i9020T models of the Nexus S, after a delayed release on Vodafone Australia.

The update is 114MB in size and brings an array of tasty treats including an improved notifications bar, various UI and performance tweaks and Google Now, which is the search giant’s answer to Apple’s Siri voice-guided assistant.

To manually check if the update is available for your handset, navigate to Settings > About Phone > Software update then tap Software update check. If it doesn’t show up, don’t fret – it will soon.
