The latest smartphone from Nokia, the X7, is now available to preorder SIM free or on contract.
The handset, which runs on the latest ‘Anna’ iteration of the Symbian operating system, is being billed as a ‘gaming smartphone’ due to its fast-processing speed and dedicated graphics processor.
Although a firm launch date has yet to be announced, Nokia has confirmed that it will be available to purchase by the end of this month for £399 sans SIM card (£359 on pay as you go). Those looking to spread out their expenses, however, will be able to pick it up on contracts starting at £25 a month.
Standout features of the X7 include a four-inch AMOLED touchscreen with ClearBlack display, which Espoo calls ‘blacker than black’. This is housed in a rather unique-looking chassis made of brushed stainless steel that sports concaved corners at the front and a curved rear cover – making it rather ergonomic as a handheld device.
Also onboard is an eight-megapixel snapper with dual LED flash which shoots videos in 720p HD, 8GB of storage supplied with a microSD card (included) and an array of extras such as Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, microUSB port and FM radio.
On the software side, there is support for Adobe Flash, push email with unified inbox for a variety of email clients and free turn-by-turn voice-guided navigation ‘for life’ via Ovi Maps.
