Vodafone has released pricing for Nokia’s Windows Mango-powered Lumia 800 on monthly contract deals, along with incentives for pre-order early birds.
The carrier is offering Nok Nok’s 2011 flagship phone for free from £36 per month over a two-year contract, with monthly allowances of 300 minutes and unlimited texts.
In keeping with Voda’s top-end smartphone contracts, for the first three months buyers qualify for unlimited mobile data use. Thereafter, the allowance reverts to 750MB per month.
In a sign of just how much is riding on the much-lauded handset for Nokia, the first 10,000 customers who pre-order the handset with Vodafone also get £60 worth of vouchers that can be spent on music from Zune, Starbucks coffees or “anything you fancy from Amazon”.
Unveiled last month, the Lumia 800 packs the latest Mango version of Windows tile-based user interface, plus an eight megapixel snapper and a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen – all encased in a unibody polycarbonate shell.
Like the Mango-toting Nokia N9 before it, the Finns’ latest smartphone challenger dispenses with physical, front-facing buttons in favour of an all-touch UI and offers 16GB of internal memory for storing apps, music and whathaveyou.
