Rovio has revealed details of a forthcoming smartphone game, as it bids to repeat Angry Birds’ planet-straddling success.
Ville Heijari, VP of Franchise Development at Rovio, disclosed the shadowy title will be called ‘Amazing Alex’ and will drop in two months time.
Heijari said: “We are currently reworking the title to enhance it, and getting ready to re-introduce it in a true ‘expect the unexpected’ Rovio style launch to an even larger audience.”
Alas, more details weren’t forthcoming. But we’re guessing it probably won’t be deviate too far from the mass-market appeal and physics-based fun of Angry Birds.
Although, that said, whether anyone was really expecting an Infinity Blade-style graphical tour de force and complex gameplay is doubtful.
News of our favourite Finns’ plans comes as it recently confirmed that Angry Birds has now been downloaded a whopping one billion times, sealing its status as a bona-fide cultural phenomenon.
