Microsoft’s Surface Pro 2 is on the end of more negative headlines today, after it was revealed the company has had to pull a major software update for the device.
Users had complained that the upgrade was failing to install on the powerful tablet. Those that were able to get the software on board said that it caused the battery to drain at an excessive rate.
Some took to Microsoft’s Answers forum to voice their frustration. One user said his device was ‘almost unusable’ while another complained of the tablet becoming ‘frustrating’ to use.
Microsoft has said it’s working on a new update and has pulled the current software in order to prevent any more failed installations.
“To ensure the best experience for our customers during the holiday season, we have taken steps to remove the update for Surface Pro 2 that was previously published through Windows Update on December 10th, 2013. We are working to release an alternative update package after the holidays,” the company wrote on its forum.
