Nokia’s newly revealed X Series smartphones won’t be available across the globe, with punters in the US, Canada, Japan and Korea set to miss out the Finnish firm’s first Android handsets.

The news comes straight from Nokia’s veep of product marketing Jussi Navanlinna, who said that the X, X+ and XL would be up for grabs everywhere else, including the UK.

However, the move raises questions about Microsoft’s feelings regarding the new device.

While Navanlina said Nokia was plotting more X Series phones this year, it remains unclear just how Nokia’s soon–to–be owner feels about using Google software.

The three Nokia X Series phones were originally believed to be made specifically for developing countries.

However, it seems the decision to spread the devices across Europe and most of Asia, that Nokia is keen for one last hurrah before it’s subsumed by the Redmond giant.
