September looks to be a bumper month for Apple apostles, amid signs that as well as two new iPhones we could also be in for a fresh addition to the iPad family.

According to supply-chain sources cited by Bloomberg, Apple’s manufacturing partners have begun ramping up production of the 9.7-inch iPad Air and its 7.9-inch Mini-branded running mate in anticipation of an imminent launch.

The fresh take on the Air could even be with us as soon as this quarter, it seems. And given that we’re already well into August, that suggests a September due date.

The new Mini is apparently at a much less advanced stage of market-readiness. But it’s still expected to be available to buy before the end of the year.

But before you go adding either device to your Christmas wishlist, it’s worth noting that looming supply shortages mean you'll likely face a wrangle to actually get your hands on either device.

This time around the cause of the shortfall in supply is purported to be anti-reflective coating on the screen of both models – something that would represent a first for Apple’s iPad range.

September is also expected to see the big reveal for the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iterations of the iPhone 6. And may or may not (we’re saying ‘not’) also be marked by the arrival of the iWatch – the tech giant’s first-ever foray into wearable technology.
