Three started life as Hutchinson 3G in 1990 and, at the time, it was one of only a handful of companies given the license to run third generation wireless services. These services used then-revolutionary technology which allowed for the transmission of polyphonic ringtones and photographs from mobile to mobile. It was also the first carrier to offer a video mobile network in the UK in 2003.
Having secured 4G spectrum in 2013, Three now offers a super-fast mobile internet service capable of speeds of up to 42Mbps. In 2014, Three's parent company Hutchison Whampoa agreed to acquire O2 in a deal that resulted in the creation of the UK's largest mobile phone provider by customer numbers.
Three customers can get in touch via online support, Twitter or e-mail.
Customers can also call Three's support team from 8am to 8pm on Monday through Friday, or from 9am to 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
