A mobile phone from Zune will not be appearing in stores as soon as rumours suggest, developers Microsoft have revealed.
Recently, mobile phones sites reported that a Zune phone was due for a June release – one month ahead of the anticipated arrival of the third edition of the iPhone.
However, in an exclusive interview with Neowin, Microsoft quashed speculation that the handset is imminent and refused to acknowledge that the company is even planning such a device.
Meanwhile, despite the firm’s official denial, insider technology blogs and news sources are continuing to report that a Zune phone is on the way and are speculating on its specifications.
According to an anonymous source cited by ZDNet, the high-end smartphone will be equipped with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with haptic feedback, as well as an FM tuner and a microSD card slot.
Other features are said to include a three megapixel camera and an ARM v6+ processor.
