Sales of the Nokia N97 have passed two million in just over three months, it has been revealed.
The level of demand for Nokia’s flagship mobile phone for 2009 has made it the company’s best-selling handset ever, ahead of the previous leader the N95.
According to Tech Radar, the 5800 XpressMusic has also performed well for the Finnish phone giants, with the two smartphones racking up a combined total of 10 million sales over the last 10 months.
Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, chief executive officer of Nokia, said: "We have a unique position in the smartphone market. Nokia is the undisputed leading player in the smartphones space."
News of developments comes as Nokia is gearing up for a host of new mobile phone launches in the second half of this year.
These include the powerful smartphone the Nokia N900, the N97 Mini and the X6, which has garnered plaudits from technology sites and bloggers for its radical, cutting-edge design.
