BlackBerry phone owners will able to instant message friends and family for free with the arrival of the new SHAPE Services IM+ app.
IM+ is touted by many as the instant messaging app to end them all, as it offers compatibility with all of the most popular clients out there today, including MSN, Yahoo, ICQ, Facebook and even Skype.
The app will even be able to translate messages in a foreign language on the fly and allow you to set up conference chats with multiple contributors.
The app's creators are able to offer the service free of charge thanks to revenues from mobile advertising.
IM+ Lite will be free to download for the BlackBerry, but users who want to cut down on the ads will need to pick up the paid-for version to do so.
The full edition includes a couple of extras, including voice controls and push email notifications.
