The smartphone feature which is least important to modern mobile users is the lowly FM radio tuner, it has been revealed.

In a poll conducted by Nokia, nearly 33 per cent of those questioned said that life without an integrated radio in their mobile would be perfectly acceptable.

Just above that were video playback capabilities, which 12 per cent of people claimed they could do without.

Interestingly mobile email capabilities came in third bottom, with 10 per cent of users claiming that they could happily leave their inbox browsing until they had access to a PC.

The most popular mobile attributes included a clock, which is understandable, as well as Wi-Fi and applications.

Internet access was also up there with the essential features, with just two per cent of the voters deeming it dispensable.
