Windows Phone 7 owners hoping to get onboard with 2010’s biggest casual gaming craze Angry Birds face a long wait, games maker Rovio has revealed.
Back in early December, the company said it anticipated it would be able to deliver the game to smartphones powered by Microsoft’s operating system early in 2011, having originally expected to be able to bring the title to market before 2010 was out.
However, now even that looks wildly optimistic after Rovio informed a WP7 gamer via its official Twitter feed that it doesn’t expect to have Angry Birds ready for "months".
The reasons for the latest delay are as yet unconfirmed. However, in the past the company has explained that WP7 conversions “take a lot of work”, suggesting that it’s the labour involved rather than any inherent issues with the platform that is causing the problem.
