Nokia’s much-hyped 41-megapixel Windows Phone is all set for launch in New York this coming Thursday, July 11th.
But just when the web’s tech experts thought they had the inside line on this next-gen camera phone, juicy new info has emerged.
Last week, it was believed that Espoo was planning on naming the device the Lumia 1020.
Now though, sources close to the manufacturer are saying the handset will actually be called the Lumia 909.
Naming conventions aside, word is the Lumia 909 will clock in at around $600 SIM-free across The Pond.
That works out at a not unreasonable £400 on these shores, although expect that price to jump a little when the official announcement comes.
The Lumia 909, which had been codenamed EOS, will be looking to up the ante in the new battle for camera phone supremacy amongst mobile’s biggest players.
Whether it can compete with the Android-packing Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom though, remains to be seen.
