The makers of the Kickstarter–funded Pebble smart watch have revealed that the device will be getting its own app store in 2014. The new emporium will be part of the device’s compatible smartphone app.
Users will be able to snag a slew add-ons for their savvy timepiece, with categories including remotes, games, notifications, tools and utilities, watch faces, daily and sports and fitness.
The aim is to make it easier for users to add extras to their Pebble watch. Up to now, users have had to go through third party websites in order to access new features for the device.
Pebble has thrown open the doors to developers already, with the opportunity to submit new apps starting now. While there’s no specific launch date for the Pebble App Store, the hope is that it’ll be ready for business early in the new year.
