EE customers can now enjoy super-fast 4G browsing in Spain and France, as the carrier presses ahead with plans to offer faster mobile internet connectivity across The Continent.
EE subscribers are able to access 4G speeds in two of Britons’ favourite holiday destinations immediately, after the carrier struck the first of a series of outbound roaming arrangements with European operators.
4G will also be available in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands by the summer, as well as in the USA.
Olaf Swantee, EE CEO, said: “Our customers will be the first to benefit in France and Spain today, with the most popular travel destinations to follow in the coming months.
“Whether it’s working on the move, social networking, using maps, or just finding a great place to eat in an unknown city, our customers will now benefit from the same superfast and reliable mobile experience at home and overseas.”
Customers who want to use the service can sign up for EE roaming bundles, starting at £3 for 100MB of data, which must be used within 24 hours of purchase.
EE announced the move as it picked up the title of the UK’s number-one mobile network from analysts RootMetrics, finishing top of the pile in categories that included overall network performance, network reliability, speed and call performance.
