BlackBerry is bringing its BBM platform to Google’s Android Wear, bringing it into line with rival offerings such as WhatsApp.
The Canadian company says that the service will allow you to dictate messages directly into an Android Wear watch and accept friend invitations straight from your wrist too.
It has pegged BBM for Android Wear for an ‘early 2015’ release, although has not said anything more specific. Thanks to the Google software being the same across all devices, BBM will place nice whether you’re packing a watch made by Samsung, LG or Motorola.
This is the latest move by BlackBerry to regain attention after a turbulent couple of years. Already edging back towards profitability, the company revealed its new BlackBerry Classic smartphone at the end of 2014, as well as heavily promoting its unique BlackBerry Passport handset.
