Google isn't alone in getting in on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow fun. HTC has today announced it will launch a phone running the new version of Google's mobile operating system next month.
The launch takes place on October 20th and will be live streamed, starting at 5pm UK time.
The invite to the press event features the tagline "Meet the Marshmallow from HTC". Which isn't too subtle.
It also teases attendees to expect something out of the ordinary, with the pledge that "this is not your traditional smartphone so we aren't hosting a traditional launch event".
The smart money is on the phone being the HTC Aero, aka HTC One A9.
The device has leaked a few times recently. One rumour says it could pack a 10-core processor, which would put it firmly in flagship territory.
It would also give HTC the jump on arch rival Samsung. Samsung's phones won't be ready for Android Marshmallow for at least a few weeks.
Samsung hasn't announced any new phones to run the new OS. But there's still a while to go before Christmas, so you never know.
