The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact is on sale now, offering much the same spec-sheet fixtures as the full-size Xperia Z5 but in a smaller package.
The handset is slightly smaller than the iPhone 6S, with a 4.6-inch screen. It has a resolution of 1,280x720 pixels, and a pixel density of 323ppi.
But just because it’s small, doesn’t mean it’s underpowered. Under the bonnet is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 2GB of RAM.
It's equipped for 4G, for superfast browsing, emailing and surfing. And it's waterproof too, so you can take it in the pool with you.
On the back is a 23-megapixel camera with a super-quick autofocus system. It’s equipped with a 5-megapixel selfie-taker, and records video in 4K.
The battery is 2,700mAH, which is impressive given the phone’s diminutive stature. Just 10 minutes of charging will give you 5.5 hours of use.
There’s also a fingerprint sensor, which is secreted in the on-off button, for unlocking your phone using biometrics.
If you want the Xperia Z5 Compact in a different colour, it’s available exclusively in white and coral colours from Carphone Warehouse.
Prices start at £33.50 a month. SIM-free, you’ll have to pay £449.99.
