A leaked design drawing of the forthcoming iPad Air 3 has thrown further light on Apple's plans for the updated tablet, as well as adding more heft to previous rumours.
The image clearly shows that Apple will equip the next iPad Air with four speakers - a move that would bring it in line with the iPad Pro.
That prospect was raised earlier this year by leaks from case-manufacturers, but this drawing looks a lot more official and more credible than the renders we've seen previously.
The new drawing also shows a smart connector, something which only the iPad Pro has featured so far.
That means the iPad Air 3 could come with support for its own smart keyboard, like its larger stablemate, as well as the Apple Pencil stylus.
Once again this drawing reiterates plans to bring an LED flash to the iPad Air 3, which will please the growing band of tablet photographers out there.
Interestingly, it appears the iPad Air 3 could be slightly larger than its predecessor to accommodate these new features. However, a spread of just 0.1mm is not likely to be noticed by many.
The iPad Air 3 is expected to launch at a special Apple event next month, when the company is also set to reveal its slimmed down iPhone 5SE.
