Apple’s forthcoming iPad Air 3 will feature a 4K resolution screen and 4GB of RAM, with the device going into production in the second quarter of this year.
That’s the word from sources in Taiwan, who told Digitimes the new tablet will go into production after Apple launches it at a special event in March.
While that scenario seems far–fetched, Apple last year unveiled its long–awaited iPad Pro two months prior to release.
The iPad Air 3 is said to come with similar features to its larger stablemate, including four rather than two speakers.
The device is also thought to add a LED flash to its specs roster. Users taking pictures with their iPad is an increasingly obvious sight at public events.
Apple is looking to arrest a worrying, long-term slide in iPad sales, which dropped from 21.4 million in the final quarter of 2014 to 16.5 million in the last three months of 2015.
