The People’s Operator (TPO) has launched its first-ever 4G plan, offering monthly allowances of 2GB of data, 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £6.99 per month.

Initially available solely to new customers, the plan is SIM only and operates on a 30-day rolling contract basis. Out-of-contract usage is charged at is 3p per MB and 10p per minute for calls.

As with all contracts with TPO, you’re also given the option of diverting 10% of your monthly outlay to a good cause of your choice.

The carrier, whose service uses EE’s mobile network, also pledges to commit 25% of its profits to the TPO Foundation charitable trust.

Ernest Doku, mobile expert at uSwitch, said: “It's tough for any other UK mobile network to match or beat TPO Mobile on price right now, which gives it two compelling unique selling points: one of the best value 4G SIM-only deals on the market and support for charitable causes at no extra cost to billpayers.

“That kind of proposition is hard to beat. The closest rival tariffs to their £6.99 per month 4G plan for 2GB data and unlimited text and minutes are from the likes of iD Mobile and TalkMobile - both with strong offerings but not matching either the amount of minutes, data or delivering 4G speeds at this price point."
