Samsung has made a subtle dig at Apple’s plans to ditch the headphone slot on its forthcoming iPhone 7.
Addressing press at yesterday's launch event, the Korean company’s marketing executive Justin Denison seemingly couldn’t resist throwing a brickbat in Apple's direction.
"Want to know what else it comes with?" he said in reference to Samsung’s new best–in–class smartphone. "An audio jack. I'm just saying.”
Apple has been widely derided for plans to get rid of the standard 3.5mm port, which is found in nearly all tablets, laptops and smartphones.
Word is that it’s made the move to ensure the new iPhone is waterproof, although the Galaxy Note 7 can also withstand dunks and splashes while retaining a standard audio jack.
Samsung did not crow about any other features its Galaxy Note 7 features compared with existing iPhones.
However, its iris scanning tech, improved camera and ultra bright screen already suggest it will be a much better device than the current iPhone 6s.
Samsung will release the Galaxy Note 7 on September 2nd, with preorders starting august 16th.
The iPhone 7 is expected to launch around September 9th.
