The man who founded Apple with Steve Jobs claims the company was right to ditch the headphone slot on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, less than two months after he slammed his former company for making the move.
Steve Wozniak told Tech Radar: "Not that many people used it, I never used it. For those who do use it, :ou can buy a little adaptor dongle."
Back in August, just weeks ahead of the iPhone 7’s official launch, Wozniak told reporters in Australia: “If [the iPhone 7 is] missing the 3.5mm earphone jack, that’s going to tick off a lot of people.”
At the time he suggested that Bluetooth and wireless tech was not up to the job compared with wired headphones and said Apple should be offering USB–C charging tech with the iPhone 7 as well.
The iPhone 7 has come in for strong criticism thanks to its lack of a headphone port.
Apple has not officially revealed sales figures for its latest smartphones, but analysts believe they are down by as much as 25% compared with 2015.
