A third version of the iPad Pro remains on course for launch later this year. That’s the word from analyst Ming Chi Kuo, who has a strong track record when it comes to future Apple products.
Kuo has leaked detals about a new iPad Pro before, claiming, among other things, that the tablet will feature a 10.5–inch screen.
Now he says that this particular size variant will be the flagship model of an updated iPad Pro range and will feature a bezel–free design and an updated A10X chipset.
Apple will apparently include the latter in a new version of its larger, 12.9–inch iPad Pro, while offering the standard 9.7–inch model with an older chipset.
Not much else is known about Apple’s 2017 iPad plans. However, it appears to be taking the tablet down the same route as the iPhone, which is also expected to have a major redesign in the next 12 months.
Previously, insiders have suggested the new iPad Pro could be unveiled as soon as this spring, leaving Apple the rest of the year to focus on the iPhone 8.
