Apple will unveil its latest update to iOS on 5th June, after sending out invites to a keynote speech at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Jose.
The keynote, which is set to take place at 6pm UK time, will showcase iOS 11, along with software for other Apple products.
Little is known for sure about iOS 11. However, the latest version of Apple’s iPhone and iPad operating system is likely to offer tweaks to existing tools such as 3D Touch, as well as boosting Siri, Apple’s virtual assistant.
The latter is likely to be the star of WWDC, with rumours flying that Apple is readying a special new at–home speaker to take on the Amazon Echo.
The new device could feature a screen for FaceTime calls.
Apple will not, however, reveal the tenth anniversary iPhone 8 at WWDC.
Instead it's expected to wait until September to pull the wrappers off of 2017’s most–anticipated smartphone.
