Galaxy Note 8 set to feature infinity display

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 concept

The long–awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will feature the same infinity display as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, rumours suggest.

Reports emerging in the Netherlands indicate that the next phone in the Note range will include a 6.3–inch screen with an 18:5:9 aspect ratio, something that helped set the Galaxy S8 apart from its competitors when it comes to watching video.

Samsung’s infinity display, which means the screen takes up the entire front of the phone, has won plaudits for its edge–to–edge finish and suitability for watching video on the go.

Despite a series of leaked renders and dummy models, it remains unclear whether the Galaxy Note 8’s infinity display will have a fingerprint scanner built into it.

Samsung was unable to manage to include such tech on the Galaxy S8, but has had more time to ensure the security function can work on the Note 8.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at September’s IFA trade show in Berlin.

Recent rumours point towards the device using the latest version of Android Nougat, as well as coming with a dual lens camera.
