BT has signed a four-year deal with telecommunications equipment manufacturer Nortel.

The agreement, which extends the company's long-running partnership with Nortel, could consequently help bolster the delivery of BT's business broadband services.

Announced earlier this week, the global trading deal will help BT to provide its customers with a range of solutions for their voice, contact centre, LAN, routing or VPN needs.

Lewis Lyell, Managing Director of Convergence Business Sales for BT Global Services, noted: "This new deal is very good news for our customers. It demonstrates our ability to deliver value to customers even in the toughest market conditions."

Joel Hackney, President of Enterprise Business for Nortel, said that the new agreement highlights the "level of service" that the companies can offer, while also helping to enhance their relationship.

"Not only do [BT and Nortel] understand the technology that businesses need to succeed, we also share a vision of delivering communications solutions that simplify and enhance the customer experience," he commented.
