Leading broadband provider BT is offering one family in either Caerphilly or Cardiff the chance to enjoy super-fast internet access for free.

The firm has launched its Superfamily scheme, which is based around finding a household that can show how they use the internet as an integral part of their everyday life.

Under the terms of the competition, the family which best persuades BT of its love of the internet will gain a free 18-month subscription to BT's own Infinity fibre optic broadband service.

BT's Director for Wales Ann Beynon said the scheme would do much to highlight the potential advantages of using fibre services over other internet connections.

She added: "Parts of Cardiff and Caerphilly are among the first places in the UK to benefit from BT's fibre broadband and we are very keen to show local people the internet as they've never seen it before."

BT has recently installed fibre-optic broadband services in parts of Dartford, Birmingham and Castleford as part of its UK-wide network upgrades.
