BT Sport has acquired two million viewers since launching at the start of August, it has been revealed.
According to Gavin Patterson, Chief Executive Officer at BT, the subscription sport platform has made "a confident start".
With the service offering live Barclays Premier League football and Aviva Premiership rugby union, he said BT Sport "is already delivering for viewers".
"More than two million of our customers are signed up to it and our wholesale contract with Virgin Media means [BT Sport] is available to around four million homes in total," Mr Patterson stated.
"It is also delivering for the business, helping us achieve a record 93 per cent share of broadband net adds in the quarter, our lowest line losses for five years and four per cent revenue growth in our BT Retail Consumer business."
BT Sport is available to all BT customers for free, with the firm's TV subscribers able to watch live programming via their YouView or Vision+ set-top box.
Non-BT TV customers can watch BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN via the online player and BT Sport app over the internet.
