netflix iOS app

Apps usually offer exactly the same features on an iPhone as on Android. But not the Netflix app.

The streaming service has just punted out an update to the Android app that lets users store downloaded content on a microSD memory card. That means you can download hours of stuff from Netflix, store it on your memory card and binge your way through it without needing an internet connection.

The iPhone and iPad can't use memory cards, so they're limited to their respective capacities.

Netflix added the ability to download content late last year. It means you can download shows and films to watch when offline.

To use the new feature, just make sure you're running the latest version of the app. When downloading something, select the Download Location feature, then choose your microSD card. Bingo.

However, because of rights restrictions, not every show on Netflix is available to download. The firm also notes that the feature isn't supported on all devices, but doesn't specify which.
