UFC 222 amazon prime video

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is now available on Amazon Prime Video. Amazon's streaming service now hosts the mixed martial arts company's pay-per-view events.

The first one to be screened was UFC 222, which aired on Saturday night. It cost $64.99 (£47). No Prime Video subscription was required to watch.

Viewers can pre-order the events, and also purchase them four hours after the start time, for those who only want to see the headliners duke it out.

It has rewind functionality, if you miss a moment. And you can replay it within 24 hours of the event taking place.

This is the first pay-per-view event that Prime Video has hosted. The streaming service is increasingly targeting live sports, and was even rumoured to be bidding for the live Premier League rights.

Fights are already available to purchase on the UFC website, but making them available on Amazon should bring them to a wider audience. It should also be more convenient for Amazon customers who already have payment cards and accounts set up.

The events are only available on Prime Video in the US for now. There's no word on when (or if) they'll come to Prime Video in the UK.
