The end of the year is fast approaching, which means it’s time to run down a ‘best of 2018’. This time it’s YouTube’s turn. The video site has revealed the top 10 videos streamed during the year, and the results may surprise you.
Topping the list is Paul McCartney’s Carpool Karaoke, in which the ex-Beatle takes a ride with The Late Late Show’s James Corden. Along the way, he sings some of his most popular hits, including Penny Lane and Let It Be. He also reveals how in a dream, his mother told him to “let it be”, inspiring the hit of the same name.
That video was more popular than The Royal Wedding, which saw Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle. The Royal Wedding also filled the number three spot, though A Bad Lip Reading isn’t quite the official version that the Queen and co. would like you to see.
Elsewhere, the list includes contestants for both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent, and two entrants for Ariana Grande. That Yanny v Laurel: which name do you hear? also did well, scoring the fifth spot.
On the music video front, Maroon 5 featuring Cards B – Girls Like You took the top spot, followed by Drake, Ariana Grande, and then Rudimental featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen.
