Ovo Energy: the UK's cheapest energy bills?
Ovo Energy is the first new energy supplier to enter the UK market in years and aims to provide customers with a simple option in crowded marketplace by offering just two tariffs - a standard energy plan and a green energy plan, both of which are set at a fixed price for 12 months.
The company also claims that its standard tariff is the greenest available on the market, and derives 15% of its energy from renewable sources, including electricity generated by wind turbines and landfill gas.
Will Marples, uSwitch energy expert, commented 'It's exciting to see a new supplier enter the market, and broaden choice for customers. It is a sign that competition is active in the energy market.
'As always, the message is that customers should get themselves a customised quote on the price for all available tariffs, and to see which best suits their individual requirements'
