iPhones have topped a new survey for customer satisfaction, beating rival smartphones from LG into second place.
In a consumer study conducted by JD Power and Associates, the iPhone was ranked highest for features, physical design, battery function, operating system and ease of use.
The strong showing saw Apple’s handsets claim the top spot with an overall score of 791 on a 1,000-point scale.
LG smartphones ranked second with 772 points, while Samsung's range of high-end mobiles picked up third place with a score of 759 points.
Kirk Parsons, senior director of wireless services at JD Power, said that the findings showed the importance of making sure that the advanced features of high-end phones are easily accessible to users.
Apple’s triumph in the survey marks the second time that its smartphones have scooped the top award from JD Power for customer satisfaction.
News of the results comes as Apple is believed to be preparing to launch a third edition of the iPhone over the next few months.
Meanwhile, LG is gearing up to release the LG GD900 and the successor to its hugely popular LG Viewty KU990, the LG Viewty Smart.
