Mirror's Edge, the gorgeous first-person free-run-em-up that hit the home console market in 2008, is set to make an appearance on the iPhone in 2010.
The mobile version of the game will not be a sequel or prequel, but is instead a platformer that sticks to roughly the same story while removing half a dimension from play.
Mirror's Edge mobile will be a 2.5D side-scrolling action game, which means that whilst the background and character models will be rendered in full 3D, the player will only be able to move their character across a two-dimensional plain.
Most of the free-running mechanics from the console version are retained, so expect to be running up walls, taking leaps of faith and fly flailing down zip lines.
The game will hit the App Store in January next year. And judging by a few teaser screen shots that EA has released, beating up bad guys and a little gun play may also be retained in the mobile adaptation.
