Apple's iPad is no substitute for the iPhone, the tech Twittersphere has declared.
A survey of Twitter users by analyst firm Attensity found that 67 per cent reacted with subdued approval for the iPad.
Conversely, just six per cent declared their love for the device, while two per cent said they hate the iPad and the 24 per cent who remain unimpressed.
Of the 50,000 tweets that were analysed, an impressive 87 per cent made reference to or were from users who intend to buy the iPad.
Most early adopters who spoke positively about the iPad said that while it is a great gadget, it would have been even better if it could act as an iPhone replacement.
The ranks of new iPad owners may soon regret their purchase, however, because a 3G version is on its way, offering the same high speed, always-on connectivity of the iPhone 3G S, according to Apple Insider.
