Internet users are being targeted by a campaign of spam emails promising the chance to get a free iPhone 4G, even though the smartphone is yet to be released.
The messages suggest that iPhone 4G testers are required and that after trials are complete the device will be theirs to keep, according to security vendor Sophos.
A phishing site is linked to in the email and the criminals behind it are just looking to collect some email addresses and financial information from those unlucky enough to fall for the offer.
Malicious emails often ride the wave of popularity surrounding a particular gadget or service and the iPhone 4G is hot property at the moment, with its announcement expected next month.
