The power of the iPhone as a medium for advertising has been demonstrated in new figures which show that over half of all smartphone ads are published on Apple's mobile.
A total of 55 per cent of the smartphone advertising market was captured by the iPhone last month, according to ad network Millennial Media.
Android is in second place, with almost a fifth of the smartphone ad market to its name, which indicates that Google is using its experience in the sector to rapidly gain ground.
Research in Motion (RIM) counted on its BlackBerry range to secure 16 per cent of the market in July, whilst, with just four per cent of the market, it was the Windows Mobile platform that took the smallest proportion.
"The fact that more devices are being launched by different handset manufacturers and the fact that developers are choosing to develop on multiple platforms, continues to show that where there is money to be made, developers will go there," Millennial Media's Steve McCord told Apple Insider.
